Open Your Home, Save a Life
Opening your home to a foster cat is one of the most impactful ways to save lives. Fostering provides a safe, temporary home for cats until they are adopted—and it gives them the love and care they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
Why Fostering Matters
Every foster home makes room for another cat in need. Whether it’s a kitten too young for adoption, a cat recovering from surgery, or a shy cat learning to trust people, fosters provide the bridge from rescue to forever home.

FAQ's
What does it mean to foster a cat?
Fostering means opening your home to a cat in need until they are adopted. You provide love, care, and a safe space, while the rescue covers major expenses and finds the cat a permanent home.
Do I need experience to foster?
No experience is required! We provide guidance and support every step of the way. Whether you’re new to fostering or a seasoned pet owner, we’ll match you with a cat that fits your household.
What costs will I be responsible for?
Caring Cat Rescue is a nonprofit that relies on donations, so anything you can provide—like food, litter, or toys—is extremely helpful. We cover veterinary care, vaccines, and spay/neuter. If providing basics is a hardship, let us know—support is available.
How long will I have the foster cat?
The length of foster care can vary. Some cats are adopted in a few weeks, while others may need several months. We’ll work with you to find placements that fit your availability.
What if I can’t keep fostering the cat?
We understand that sometimes things change. Since we are a small rescue with limited foster homes, we ask for at least a few days’ notice if you need to end a foster placement early. This gives us time to arrange another safe spot for the cat.
Can I adopt my foster cat?
Yes! Many foster families fall in love and decide to adopt. This is called a “foster fail,” and it’s one of the happiest outcomes.
What if I already have pets?
That’s fine! We’ll help you with introductions and provide tips on managing a multi-pet household. Some cats do best as the only pet, while others thrive with companions.
