Caring Cat Rescue (CCR) is led by Director (CEO) Shamra Andrews and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, including a Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Officer. Together, they provide leadership, financial oversight, and strategic guidance to ensure CCR runs responsibly as a nonprofit and stays true to its mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats in need.
Meet our team!
Founder/CEO
Shamra lives by the phrase “take one day at a time,” balancing rest and health while finding ways to give back. Having shared her life with emotional support cats, she understands the healing power of connecting with these little spirits of God’s creation. She has lived in several states, worked across diverse fields, and rescued animals on her own throughout the years. Today, she helps connect people in the community to support cats in need and sees Caring Cat Rescue (CCR) as a true community effort. In her free time, Shamra enjoys watching Marvel movies and documentaries with her husband, biking in the summer, taking photos to memory-journal her life, pet sitting, and volunteering with NAMI. She prays that God continues to guide CCR and all who take part in it.

Now living in Spokane with her own rescue dog and two cats, Brielle continues to dedicate her time and heart to giving animals safe and loving homes through CCR.
Social Media Director
melanie@caringcatrescue.org
After spending the past two years in New York City, Melanie recently relocated to Spokane, bringing her creativity and passion for animal welfare with her. While in NYC, she worked as a Social Media Coordinator for Linus & Friends Animal Rescue, where her engaging content helped connect countless animals with loving homes. Outside of her work in animal rescue, Melanie loves baking, cuddling with her rescue pets, exploring new foods, and spending time in the water swimming.
